It’s time for the GOP House Leader Kevin McCarthy to step down. He has been caught dead to right in a lie. He told Liz Cheney on a January 10, 2021 call that he would counsel then President Trump to resign before the end of his term. Not only that little “gem”, he also wished the big tech companies would strip some republican lawmakers of their social media accounts, as Twitter and Facebook had done with Donald Trump. Members such as Lauren Boebert of Colorado had done so much to stoke paranoia about the 2020 election and made offensive comments online about the Capitol attack.
The New York Times reported on it. McCarthy said that is was taken out of context and not true. Then the leaked audio of the call came from another source proving it was correct.
Here is an excerpt from the recorded call to Liz Chaney:
Kevin McCarthy: “I think [impeachment resolutions] will pass, and it would be my recommendation you (President Trump) should resign… What he did is unacceptable. Nobody can defend that and nobody should defend it.”
McCarthy also indicated that he believed Twitter and Facebook should delete the accounts of lawmakers who were supporting Trump’s claim of a rigged election. “We can’t put up with that,” he said. “Can’t they take their Twitter accounts away, too?”
So McCarthy told his colleagues he was going to ask President Trump to step down. He talked about how Twitter should regulate conservative voices. And now he is caught lying about the entire conversation that was recorded and released by Liz Cheney loyalists.
McCarthy has to go:
