Presidential: Trump’s First Joint Address to Congress

First Addresss Congress Donald Trump (Reuters)

For the first joint address to congress by the newly elected president Donald J Trump, he showed incredible poise. Trump’s communication and his vision for the country were very well done. I felt that he did a great job for an important first speech.

Trump had very good support from the Republicans all throughout the speech. The Democrats on the other hand, the majority showed no class. Not to mention some didn’t even show up. Most of the attendees played with their phones and probably tweeted. It’s pathetic that leaders in the Democratic Party are such poor leaders and role models.

That’s ok. Democrats are pieces of shit with no class, like Maxine Waters, a no-show.

Trump’s points:

  • America stands for Unity
  • America supports Israel
  • He’s keeping his campaign promises
  • He pushed the Dakota Pipeline to be built
  • America is about laws
  • Protect our borders is a priority
  • Destroy ISIS terrorists
  • He appointed a great judge
  • Repeal Obamacare
  • Create school choice
  • Support our troops and our veterans
  • Support Law enforcement
  • Dream big
  • Create jobs

When it was over, the classless democrats just walked out, right after he finished….barely.

One of the best moments of the night was Ryan Owens, a Navy SEAL that was killed in action. Carryn Owens, his widow, was thanked by President Trump. The standing ovation was 2 minutes long and it was a very emotional moment.  Here is what he said:

And none are greater or braver than those who fight for America in uniform.
We are blessed to be joined tonight by Carryn Owens, the widow of a U.S. Navy Special Operator, Senior Chief William “Ryan” Owens. Ryan died as he lived: a warrior, and a hero –- battling against terrorism and securing our Nation.

I just spoke to General Mattis, who reconfirmed that, and I quote, “Ryan was a part of a highly successful raid that generated large amounts of vital intelligence that will lead to many more victories in the future against our enemies.” Ryan’s legacy is etched into eternity. For as the Bible teaches us, there is no greater act of love than to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. Ryan laid down his life for his friends, for his country, and for our freedom –- we will never forget him.

I would say that the speech was received very well. It was optimistic, hopeful and reached out to the opposition.

From now on, America will be empowered by our aspirations, not burdened by our fears –-
inspired by the future, not bound by the failures of the past –-
and guided by our vision, not blinded by our doubts.
I am asking all citizens to embrace this Renewal of the American Spirit. I am asking all members of Congress to join me in dreaming big, and bold and daring things for our country. And I am asking everyone watching tonight to seize this moment and —
Believe in yourselves.
Believe in your future.
