In a recent Muster Poll, it was found that Starbucks has lost it’s allure. The Question on the table, how do you feel about the Starbucks Coffee Company?
82% Disliked Starbucks
8% Liked Starbucks
4% Undecided
This was out of 100 respondents.
The details of the poll are here. Don’t you like the word “Consensus”. Kinda like the world of “Climate Change”…..
Personally, Starbucks needs to be boycotted. Howard Shultz, the CEO has become a talking head for the company and not for just coffee. I think he needs to get back to managing his company.
We think that the reason they suck are as follows:
1. They Sell Status:
It sells to the political and wealthy class mainly. People go to Starbucks so they can walk out with the logo’ed cup and announce to the world that they can afford to spend $10 on a cup of coffee. Buying things for status reasons is one of the worst reasons to buy anything. The entire allure of Starbucks is status – being able to say you can pay too much for coffee.
2. They Sell Faux Political Correctness:
Currently Starbucks said it was going to hire 10,000 poor repressed, unwanted Refugees, instead of maybe veterans or other Americans. Starbucks wants to be politically correct and save the planet. Just good old honest cardboard, and “free trade” coffee. Saving the planet, one cup at a time.
3. They are Overpriced:
The cost of a cup of coffee at Starbucks is usually double what others are charging. Some of the “coffee drinks” – which are little more than milkshakes – are even more expensive. And we are expected to tip a dollar or more to someone who pours the cup. The reason Starbucks can afford to put a store on every street corner is that the profits in selling overpriced coffee are enormous.
4. Their Coffee sucks now:
Starbucks seemed so good back a decade ago, because most coffee sucked. But today, we have choices. And Starbucks has become worse, once the taste of the Latte was pretty darn good. Not now, it tastes plain. But if the choice is between good coffee (at a reasonable price) and burn-out overpriced Starbucks, well, it is an easy choice. Like today there is The Black Rifle Coffee Company.
5. They are SLOW:
The service they provide has REALLY slowed down. Even with the implementation of new automatic espresso and milk frothing technology. Back in the day, Barista’s had to find the right tamp and time for a shot, 17-22 seconds. Back in the day, stores had secret customers to rate the experience, quality and time. So it was graded. So what happened????
Full disclosure, *Muster = Made Up Shit to Everyone Reporting.
